TREATMENTS

Massage Therapy is an alternative health option that manipulates the soft tissues of the body for therapeutic purposes.
It helps alleviate soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday and occupational stresses, muscle overuse, and many chronic pain syndromes. Many extended health care insurance plans will cover massage therapy appointments, so your visit to improve your health could cost you absolutely nothing. |
RATES: 30 min - $70 45 min - $85 60 min - $110 90 min - $160 Rates are current as of April 1, 2024 and include HST. |
Come in to take the stress away in as little as 30 minutes. You will leave feeling much more refreshed and focus for your task ahead for the day!
A very light pressure treatment that focuses on the Cranial Rhythm and Energy in the body. During the treatment, we focus on balancing the energy and creating an overall feeling of relaxation.
Deep tissue massage is great for easing persistent muscle discomfort. This type of massage targets the deeper muscles, tendons, and fascia (the tissue covering muscles), releasing painful knots and reducing overall aches and pains.
Massage has been shown to be very useful during and after pregnancy. During the first few months of pregnancy, you will be able to lay on your stomach. Or have you lay on your side. Your Blood Pressure may be taken at the beginning (and possibly the end) of your treatments if you are experiencing any problems with it during your pregnancy.
No deep pressure can be applied to the low back, or around the ankle and wrist joints during treatments until you are around 38 weeks (approximately) pregnant to reduce the risk of premature labour. These area’s can still be worked out with light pressure. Belly massage is a great way to end your treatment. It allows you to relax, and any of the muscles around the stomach to get relaxed as well. |
Infant Massage is a great technique that I can show you to create a more loving bond between you and your baby. This can help to relax their little muscles after learning how to crawl, and walk, and even help with gas pains!

Swedish massage is perfect for relaxation - that’s why it’s one of the most popular massage techniques. During your massage, your therapist will use a combination of gliding and kneading strokes to release overall muscular stress and physical tension.
What will massage do for you?
Massage can increase movement, flexibility, and relaxation by decreasing stress. Every client will experience their massage differently and will all heal differently as well.
Massage can help to reduce pain by targeting the nociceptive (painful) nerve firings in the body. Anything from a constant muscle contraction, or fascial restriction, to reduced blood flow can cause this. Once the blood flow has been increased to the area, pain should start to decrease.
In regards to circulation, massage can have short or long term effects. This depends on the amount of pressure used during the treatment. Usually a lighter pressure will only have short term effects on increasing the blood circulation. If there is swelling in an area, massage can help to increase the circulation of fluids around it by a technique called Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD). This is a lighter pressure treatment but has been proven to be very successful.

Should I Use Ice or heat?
By applying heat, there is a temporary increase in local blood flow to the surrounding skin and muscle tissue. It also decreases nerve conduction which reduces pain. Heat should not be used with any acute injury, acute inflammations, and burns.
By applying ice, the temperature of the skin is reduced and blood flow is decreased. This can also decrease pain and muscle spasms. Ice should not be used if you have Raynaud’s disease, or any circulatory problems.
Ice and heat can be used together in a contrast method. The most common ratio for this is 3 minutes of hot to one minute of cold. Always end with a cold application.

Can I still get a massage while I am Pregnant?
Yes! Massage therapy is recommended for most pregnancies. Be sure to check with your doctor before having a pre-natal massage.
At this time masks are still a mandatory health measure and shall be worn by both myself and clients during massages (covering the mouth and nose at all times). When the mask mandate is lifted, I will be proactively requiring everyone to wear a mask in my office for a few months longer to ensure the health and safety of not just those entering my office, but our families as well! I foresee a lot of colds/flu's going around as we get out more and see friends/family and I would like to keep everything at bay.
I will be continuing with my cleaning protocols that I have kept in place during COVID to help battle that as well.
